Platform Intranet respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit platformintranet.com, contact us, request a demonstration, or use services supplied by Platform Intranet. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy law, including the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
Scope of this policy
This policy covers the Platform Intranet public website, sales and support communications, and personal information handled in connection with our services. A customer organisation may also have its own privacy obligations and policies for information it places in Platform.
Information we collect
- Contact and business details, such as name, role, organisation, telephone number and business email address.
- Enquiry, demonstration and support information, including messages, meeting preferences and correspondence.
- Account and profile information provided when an organisation uses Platform.
- Customer content and usage information processed through Platform on behalf of a customer organisation.
- Technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, dates and times, and security or diagnostic logs.
- Cookie and preference information needed to operate the website and remember choices.
We do not ask you to provide sensitive information through the public website unless it is reasonably necessary and you choose to provide it.
How we collect information
We collect information directly from you, from the organisation that employs or engages you, through your use of our website or services, and from service providers that help us operate our business. If you provide another person's information, you should have authority to do so.
Why we use personal information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries; arrange and tailor demonstrations; provide, administer, secure and support Platform; communicate service or account information; improve usability and reliability; prevent fraud, misuse and security incidents; meet legal obligations; and keep appropriate business records. We only send marketing communications where permitted, and you may opt out using the unsubscribe option or by contacting us.
Customer data in Platform
When a customer organisation supplies personal information through Platform, the customer generally decides what is collected and why. We process that information to provide the contracted service and in accordance with the customer's instructions and applicable agreement. Questions about an employer's or organisation's use of information in Platform should usually be directed to that organisation first.
Cookies and analytics
The website may use essential cookies required for security, navigation and core functionality. If non-essential analytics or similar technologies are enabled, we will provide appropriate notice and choices where required. Browser settings can also be used to control cookies, although disabling essential cookies may affect functionality.
When we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to service providers that support hosting, communications, security, customer support and business operations; professional advisers; a successor in a business transaction; regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where required; and other parties with consent or as otherwise permitted by law. Service providers may only use information for the services they provide to us. We do not sell personal information.
Overseas handling
Some technology or service providers may handle information outside Australia. Where overseas handling occurs, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances and applicable law to protect the information. Contact us if you want current information about likely overseas locations relevant to your relationship with us.
Security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information and risks involved. No online system is completely secure. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, contractual and support needs, dispute resolution, security, and legal or record-keeping obligations; then we delete, de-identify or securely dispose of it where practicable.
Access and correction
You may ask for access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We may need to verify your identity. If an exception applies, we will explain it where required. For information controlled by your employer or another customer organisation, we may refer your request to that organisation.
Privacy questions and complaints
Contact us with a privacy question or complaint and provide enough detail for us to investigate. We will handle the matter reasonably and may ask for further information. If you are not satisfied, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, services or legal obligations change. The current version and update date will appear on this page.
